Who we are

New Dawn Signs & Printing Ltd. ("New Dawn Signs", "we", "us") is a sign and printing company based in Edmonton, Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect through newdawnsigns.com and in the course of our work, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We follow Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

Quote and partner requests. When you send a request through our website form, we receive the details you enter: your name, phone number, email address, company name, project location, the type of sign or service, and your message. We also record the date and time of the request and the internet address it was sent from, which helps us tell genuine requests from automated spam.

Phone, email and in-person contact. When you call, email or meet us, we keep the information needed to prepare your quote and complete your job: contact details, site address, artwork, measurements and photos of the installation.

Website visits. Our website does not use advertising cookies or analytics trackers. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, records standard server information such as internet addresses and pages requested in order to run and protect the site. Page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those files from Google when a page loads.

Why we collect it

• To answer your request and prepare a quote.
• To design, manufacture, deliver and install the work you order, and to invoice for it.
• To contact you about an order in progress or a question about your artwork.
• To keep records that tax and business law require us to keep.
• To protect our website and systems from abuse.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use it for third-party marketing. We will only send you promotional messages if you ask for them, and you can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as much as they need:

• Cloudflare hosts our website and runs the form that sends your request to us.
• Resend delivers form submissions to our email inbox.
• Google Workspace provides our email.
• Shipping carriers receive your name and address when we ship an order to you.

Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Photos of our work

We photograph completed signs and installations and may show them on our website and social media as examples of our work. These photos show the sign and the building or vehicle it is on. If your sign appears on our website and you would prefer it did not, email us and we will remove it.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests that do not become orders for up to two years. We keep order records, invoices and artwork for seven years, in line with Canadian tax requirements, and so that we can reproduce your sign if you need a replacement. You can ask us to delete artwork or files sooner.

How we protect it

Information is stored in password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication where available. Our website is served over an encrypted connection. Only the people who need your information to do your job have access to it.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email [email protected] or call 780-710-8470. We will respond within 45 days, as PIPA requires. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Children

Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date.
