Using this website

newdawnsigns.com is operated by New Dawn Signs & Printing Ltd. of Edmonton, Alberta. By using the site you agree to these terms. The site and its text, photos, sample designs and logo are ours or used with permission, and may not be copied or reused without our written consent. Photos of customer signs remain subject to the rights of those customers.

Quotes

A request sent through our website or by phone or email is a request for a quote, not an order. Prices on quotes are valid for 30 days unless the quote says otherwise, and may change if the scope, size, materials or site conditions change. Quotes are based on the information you give us; a site visit may change the price if conditions differ.

Orders, proofs and approval

An order starts when you approve a quote and, where we ask for it, pay a deposit. Before production we send a design proof. Please check the proof carefully. You are responsible for the spelling, phone numbers, addresses, colours and layout you approve. Once you approve a proof, work produced to that proof is considered correct, and changes after approval may be charged. Colours on screen can differ from printed colours; if an exact colour match matters, ask for a physical sample before approving.

Artwork and licences

When you give us a logo, photo or design, you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. We may refuse work that we believe is unlawful or infringing. Design work we create for you is licensed to you for the signs and printing you order; we keep the working files unless we agree otherwise.

Payment

Custom work usually requires a deposit before production, with the balance due on completion or installation. Invoices are due on receipt unless a quote sets other terms. We may hold delivery or installation until payment is received, and we may charge interest on overdue accounts. Prices are in Canadian dollars unless the quote states US dollars, and are subject to GST.

Permits and approvals

Many exterior signs need a municipal permit, and many landlords have sign criteria. Unless our quote says we will handle a permit, obtaining permits and landlord approval is your responsibility. We can tell you what we believe applies to your sign, but we are not responsible for a permit being refused or a landlord objecting to an approved design.

Installation and site access

For installation you agree to give us safe access to the site at the agreed time, and to tell us about hazards, hidden wiring or services, and any rules at the site. Installation prices assume a sound mounting surface and normal conditions; extra work to deal with unexpected conditions may be charged. We carry commercial general liability insurance and WCB coverage.

Vehicle graphics

Vehicles must arrive clean and free of wax or sealant where graphics will be applied. We are not responsible for paint that lifts when graphics are removed from repainted or damaged surfaces, or for damage caused by pressure washing within the curing period we specify.

Delivery and shipping

Completion dates are estimates made in good faith. Shipped orders are packed carefully, but once a carrier accepts the package, risk of loss passes to you; please inspect shipments on arrival and report damage within 48 hours so a carrier claim can be made.

Cancellations and returns

Because our products are custom made, orders cannot be returned once produced. If you cancel after approving a proof, you are responsible for the cost of materials and work completed to that point. If something we made is defective or does not match the approved proof, tell us within 7 days and we will repair or replace it at no charge.

Warranty

We warrant our workmanship for one year from completion. Materials carry the manufacturer's warranty, which varies by product; ask us for details. The warranty does not cover damage from accidents, vandalism, weather events, improper cleaning, or alterations by others.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost business or profits.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Alberta.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted here when you place an order is the one that applies to it.
